Depression is a biological disease and in this video, I summarize one of the best lectures on the topic.

Robert Sapolsky is a well-known neurobiologist and professor at Stanford University, and he has done extensive research on depression; stress and other mental disorders.
In his lectures on depression, Sapolsky argues that depression is a real and serious illness that can have both biological and environmental causes. He points out that depression is not simply a matter of being sad or feeling down, but rather involves a range of symptoms that can affect a person's physical health, mood, and behavior.
