If you have the latest Raspberry Pi Pico W board, you can get up and running with the Wifi capabilities and debugging in Visual Micro, using the development branch of the board package. More info and links below....
The latest Raspberry Pi Pico W board comes with all the power of the RP2040 processor, coupled with Wifi capabilities!!
This has not been fully released for the Arduino platform yet, however you can pull the latest development branch of the board package created by Earle F. Philhower, III to get early access to the Wifi power of this board.
Coupled with the Debugging capabilities in Visual Micro through a variety of probes, including the PicoProbe you get a lot of power for a very reasonable price of $6 - $10 depending on your supplier.
