In this video, I'm going to cover series and parallel connection of solar cells. I'll start by explaining what a cell connection is and how it looks like in a practical solar panel. I'll then cover the datasheet and show you how to use it to calculate the parameters of a solar panel. This lecture also contains the shading physics for a series connected solar cells and the role of bypass diodes to avoid hot spot. Moreover, the mismatch in parallel connected solar cells is also explained.
