How I Started My Business with Nothing (and Made $15,000!)

To make matters worse, that night my landlord served an eviction notice on me. As the sun went down I went to turn on the lights and... the power had been cut off.
That was a tough night.
I felt like I had tried everything, but no matter what I tried I wasn't getting results.
I could've easily thrown in the towel at that point. What caused me to change my life? It's simple really, I just got fed up.
That night I made a decision and the decision was this; not to settle. Not to settle for less than I can be, less than I can give and anything less than who I am destined to be.
I connected 2 extension cords and ran them down to a power socket in the stairway to plug in a desk lamp.
Under that lamp, I wrote a business plan and entitled it 'Bibby Consulting Group'. When the clock hit 8am I hit the phones.
I had no website, no business cards, no track record and by 6pm that day I had closed $15K in sales. I haven't had a "job" since and I LOVE what I do.
Sometimes in life we either need inspiration or desperation. I guess I needed desperation and I'm so grateful that I got it. ..
