Number field - Function field analogy
There is a strong analogy between number fields and function fields. In this video, we look at solving Diophantine equations over function fields where many geometric ideas come to play. This allows us to interpret our approach to solving Diophantine equations over integers geometrically. This explains the local-global terminology used in number theory.
