Betty Boop was so dumb in this cartoon... She thought singer Rudy Vallée was Rudy Valley, a place between two hills.
Notice how Betty has two "ringlet curls" on both sides of her head and wears a bonnet? The "ringlet curls" were her doggy ears transformed into curls. The animators traced over Grim Natwick's earlier model sheets, and were learning to animate Betty themselves, as they were not very good at animating female characters.
