3 The Guardian of Wayland
Heir to the Empire Chapter 4, from my soundtracks for the Thrawn Trilogy from the Star Wars Extended Universe.
Thrawn arrives at the planet Wayland seeking the mysterious Guardian of the Emperor's secret facility at Mount Tantiss. After a show of force by way of orbital bombardment, his landing party is greeted by an old man (accompanied by a sinister theme in triple time in the low instruments) who says he will take them to him. The man leads them to a tomb, revealing that the Guardian of Wayland is dead; he, Jedi Master Joruus C'Baoth, killed him. C'Baoth attacks Thrawn's party - but finds his Force lightning stymied by the strange, Force-blocking creatures Thrawn's party is carrying. Thrawn and C'Baoth (soon revealed to be a mad clone of the famous Old Republic Jedi Master) then negotiate a tentative alliance.
