Mountain Lion and Elk Encounter in Yellowstone
With The Wild Source's Tanzanian Director and head guide Deo Magoye visiting, we were able to use Nature's clues to find a mountain lion in Yellowstone. This was day 2 of observation and the mountain lion had consumed a bighorn sheep overnight so he was not very motivated to hunt despite the close approach of a prime bull elk. The elk's confidence and calm stance was notable, perhaps if he had fled once discovering the cats presence it could have triggered more interest but clearly this elk has seen a lot in its days.
