Crab-eating fox uses special technique to dispatch and eat a toad that contains poison glands
Amazing learned behavior Witnessed on safari with The Wild Source in Brazil's Pantanal this crab-eating fox captured a toad that has glands containing poison behind its eyes. The fox is careful to handle the toad only by the leg until it is able to subdue the toad by pounding it with hits by the foxes shoulder and neck area. Eventually it was ready to eat and only the bottom half of the toad is consumed to avoid the toxins.
