Some More AV1 Testing
I've been holding this one off a bit because I hadn't released my Midtown Madness videos on the main channel. This is another transcoded video from H.264 to AV1.
What I decided to do different in this transcode is that I decided to change the preset that is used. For my prior videos, I used preset 4, and while that is good quality, it leads to some slow transcoding speeds. I decided to transcode this video at preset 8, which is usually considered as the preset to use for real-time encoding. Though it seems like 4K still needs some work, whenever I transcode 1080p footage it manages to encode in real time for the most part. I still think AV1 has a couple ways to go before I start mass encoding all my videos to AV1 and save the space.
