How Far Would You Go to Help Others?
Mark 2:1-12
Jesus was speaking when a group of friends devised a creative way to get their pal in front of Jesus. They took a leap of faith that worked. In this story we learn that sometimes we have to put in some effort, get creative, and have faith if we want to make a difference to others.
In worship this Sunday we once again welcome our Children’s Choir. They be singing Mark Patterson's Come be the Light, with lyrics that speak about how through our everyday actions we all can bring light, joy and hope to the world. “With hands to serve and gifts to share, come show the world how Christ would care for all God’s people everywhere.” It is such a joy to hear our children sing and to learn the Biblical lessons they can teach us through their music. Since our sermon this Sunday is about healing, our bass soloist Michael Rice will be singing the spiritual There is a Balm in Gilead. And our Chancel Choir with Shannon Miller, soprano soloist will offer Pepper Choplin’s wonderful anthem We Are Not Alone, reminding us that God is with us in this moment, through all our days and throughout eternity. Come this Sunday to be inspired!
