Doing an ArcoLinux Install
In this episode, I go through the ArcoLinux install process, which can be confusing for users unused to installing such a distro, starting with how to decide which ISO you should use and where to find it.
This is in preparation for my next series of videos where I will review the various window manager desktops of ArcoLinux. I'm using ArcoLinux because once you get past the install process, it is (usually, this is one of the things we are going to test out) one of the more user friendly, out-of-the-box experience in using window managers, especially dynamic tiling window managers.
Note: In this installation, I used the gdm (Gnome Display Manager) which is used for logging into your desktop. Without it, all you get is a console asking for your login info, and then you are in a console. This happens because even though I installed gdm, it doesn't automatically enable it. I assume it does the same for other "login managers." So you have to enter the following code to activate it:
sudo systemctl enable gdm
Once that is done successfully, then simply reboot your system to automatically go into your new installation.
