In traditional Chinese wrestling there are many holds both to the body and to the dress. In turn, these techniques are divided into large groups. The Na group, simply grabbing, includes all techniques in which the opponent's limb is grabbed directly with the hands. Note how in this video master Li Baoru (from Beijing) calls these techniques in a completely different way from how master Yuan Zumou (from Shanghai) has been teaching us for more than thirty years but the techniques are the same. There are regional differences between the various fighting styles, but the concepts are common.
Master Yuan Zumou considers the "Na" techniques particularly valuable precisely because, by adapting them, they can be used in Shou Bo against kicks and punches and in Taiji Quan in pushing hands.
Late 1980s footage, Beijing.
