We visited the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive on a cooler, but sunny day. The highs were only around 57. The drive is about 11 miles and took us just over an hour, but the lady at the gate said to it can take up to 2 hours. We saw so many birds and wildlife, but what we saw the most of were the alligators. We have videos of most of the gators we saw, but probably saw about 25-30 in our entire drive. Some gators on the water banks, others, right on the road. I'm not sure if it's common to see these many, but all of us enjoyed being able to get so close to these reptiles! This is also an audio drive, so you can listen to on your phone. We all had a fun time spotting all the wildlife. Our kids enjoyed this as much as we did! If you are wanting to see gators and are looking for a free Orlando attraction, this is a great option! Note that the drive is only open for motorized vehicles on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays along (between 7am and 3pm) with a handful of holidays.
