Environmental conditions, including soil degradation, climate, and water shortages, threaten the world food supply. Prior attempts at alternative farming, from urban agriculture and conventional hydroponics, are insufficient by themselves. By combining novel energy generation and genetic optimization, the new Serapeum system offers a potential solution.
