Today, Wuppertal shoegazers Casino Garden are releasing the second single ‚Damping’ from their upcoming longplayer ‚Transition’ (08.11.2024).
After the post-grunge single ‚Pretend’, ‚Damping’ takes the band in an unusual direction. The song completely dispenses with drums, creating a depressingly melancholic atmosphere that burrows deep into the listener's soul. A fragile, bittersweet guitar riff dances in front of a thunderous wall of sound, each building up in its own intensity. But before they collapse under their own weight, an angelic bass melody sets in, carrying the listener across the stormy seas.
With ‚Damping’, Casino Garden deliver a song that transports the listener into a world of its own with its dark soundscape and unique mix of noise and melody. The track is a melancholic journey that gets under your skin and, together with ‚Pretend’, ideally complements the foretaste of the upcoming album. A powerful, yet vulnerable look at a dark, deep blue world of sound.
