Blepharoplasty Basics--what causes the eyelid problems and why blepharoplasty works so well
Blepharoplasty is "eyelid lift" surgery that addresses lower eyelid bags, loose and wrinkly eyelid skin, and loose upper eyelid skin. The orbital septum is a membrane that holds the fat that cushions the eyeball in place. When the orbital septum becomes thin the fat bulges, and causes lower eyelid bags. With age, the eyelid skin becomes thin and stretches, causing loose, folded skin. Blepharoplasty is done to correct the eyelid bags and loose skin, and has many components which are performed in different combinations depending on a person's unique problems. Dr. Kutty performs wide-awake blepharoplasty surgery, with local anesthesia, in the office. There's very little downtime. Blepharoplasty surgery is the ONLY way to fix eyelid bags and redundant skin. No drugstore quick fixes work at all and they're expensive. Those costs add up--blepharoplasty is often the most cost-effective option and the results are incredible!
