Enrique Norten | Tecnoglass Lecture Series
Enrique Norten is the founder and director of TEN Arquitectos in Mexico City, New York, and Miami. Born in Mexico City, he graduated with a degree in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in 1978 and earned a Master of Architecture from Cornell University in 1980.
In 1986, he founded TEN Arquitectos (Taller de Enrique Norten Arquitectos), beginning a commitment to the creation and research of urbanism, architecture, and design.
Norten has been internationally recognized for his extensive career. Recently, in 2023, he received the "Lorenzo H. Zambrano" award from CEMEX. In 2022, he was honored with the "Noldi Schreck" award by Glocal Design Magazine, and in 2021, he received the first "PPG Comex National Architecture Award." In 2018, he was awarded the "Bellas Artes Medal" by the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature, and in 2014, the "Trayectorias" award by the College of Architects of Mexico City. In 2005, the World Cultural Council presented him with the "Leonardo da Vinci" World Award, among others.
He was a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, holding the Miller Chair since 1998. He also served as a visiting professor at international institutions such as Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Columbia University School of Architecture, Parsons School of Design, Yale School of Architecture, and the University of California, Berkeley. In Mexico, he taught at Universidad Iberoamericana and the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
