Potosí & Kari Kari trek / Bolivia tour pt. 3
Potosi is a city that was trapped in time, bigger than Paris or London in the 16th century, all this wealth based on the silver extracted from the iconic Cerro Rico de Potosi, which is on the coat of arms of Bolivia.
The Kari Kari Trek that starts at the San Idelfonso lagoon and ends at the San Sebastian lagoon, these lagoons were built in the colony to supply the mining mills of the time, a curious fact is that during that time we crossed a small ice age which made the strategic place for the construction of these dams.
The next day we visited the Casa de la Moneda, where coins were minted for America and Europe in the best of times, a sample of the wealth that Potosi once boasted.
We had the opportunity to mint a coin.

Potosí es una ciudad que se quedó atrapada en el tiempo, más grande que París o Londres en el siglo 16, toda esta riqueza basada en la plata extraída del icónico Cerro Rico de Potosí, el cual está en el escudo de armas de Bolivia.
El Trek de Kari Kari que comienza en la laguna San Idelfonso y termina en la laguna San Sebastian, estás lagunas fueron construidas en la colonia para abastecer a los ingenios mineros de la época, un dato curioso es que durante esa época atravesamos una pequeña era de hielo lo que hizo el lugar estratégico para la construcción de estas represas.
Al día siguiente visitamos la Casa de la Moneda, en la cual se acuñaban monedas para América y Europa en el mejor de sus momentos, una muestra de la riqueza que alguna vez ostentó Potosí.
Tuvimos la oportunidad de acuñar una moneda.
