Irrotational Vector Field

A vector field whose curl is zero is called an irrotational vector field.It means a vector field F is irrotational iff curl F=0. In an alternative way it is also defined as the vector field whose circulation is zero. Actually both statements are equivalent to each other. The concept of the irrotational vector field has been explained by taking important illustrative examples.
