Mathematical Physics - Maxima and Minima : Second Fundamental Theorem
Second fundamental theorem related to the concept of maxima and minima of a function gives a mathematical tool to find the local maximum and minimum value of a function in a closed interval. Applying the second fundamental theorem one have to examine the points where f’(x)=0 or the points where f’(x) does not exist and the boundary points of the interval. The concept has been developed by taking important illustrative examples.
