Apple M1 - Why Intel or AMD does not have something like this?
Creators are rejoicing after seeing how big performance uplifts Apple's custom laptop chip can give. But that begs the question, why experienced chip makes like AMD and Intel are not making such well performing, but power efficient chips?
Answer lies in RISC approach and a few other things.
P.S. AMD will have a M1 competitor with ARM architecture and there is an interesting RISC-V chip from Micro Magic that surpasses M1 in efficient power usage and decent performance.
