Europe is in the midst of en energy crisis. In Italy, the price of electricity rose from 0.206 €/kilowatt hour in October 2021, to 0.501 €/kilowatt hour in October 2022, according to Tariffe Segugio. Inflation has also risen dramatically, from 2.9% in September 2021, to 9.4% in September 2022, according to Rate Inflation.
Giorgio Malavasi, the owner of a 'solar house', made the decision to become electricity independent.
