Judge Marvin E. Frankel was a founder of Human Rights First and former Chairman of our Board of Directors. Under his leadership, Human Rights First developed a nationally-recognized pro bono representation program that has grown to be the largest of its kind in the country. Through this program, our refugee representation team partners with attorneys in New York and Washington, DC and Los Angeles to provide free legal representation to thousands of refugees from over a hundred countries.
Judge Frankel dedicated his life to making a difference in the human rights movement, and every year Human Rights First honors his memory by celebrating exemplary pro-bono legal work.
Our Marvin E. Frankel Pro Bono Award Recipients are: Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, Williams & Connolly LLP, and Covington & Burling LLP.
