For World Refugee Day we sat down with one of our former clients, Jesus Medina.
Jesus is a gay man born in Venezuela who spent his life witnessing a culture of violence, persecution, and discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in his country. After realizing the Venezuelan government was doing nothing to stop these hateful acts, Jesus fled to the United States.
Now, after being granted asylum in the Unites States, he works for foundations that protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. Jesus states that he is happier and more satisfied now than he has ever been.
