Toronto has relatively mild weather, thanks to the moderating effect of Lake Ontario. It's usually not terribly hot in the summer, and we don't experience truly frigid temperatures in winter. Even snowfall is relatively modest, since lake effect snow tends to hit Buffalo to the south rather than Toronto.

Still, there are often a handful of days each winter where there is a notable amount of snowfall. Today's storm dropped about 40 cm of snow in a single day, the heaviest in almost 15 years. Plows and salters were out early in the morning and will continue late into the night.

I have a 17-day riding streak going right now, and I'm not about to let a little fluffy water break that, so I headed out this afternoon to see how the neighbourhood streets were coping. This is with my one and only bike, a Giant Roam 2 (2014) with Continental Top Contact Winter tires. This video was shot around 3 pm in the afternoon, after the plows were able to service most of the downtown streets.
