UNICEF-supported catch-up classes in Madagascar
In Madagascar, 35.7% of children drop out of secondary school.
To give a second chance to these teenagers, the UNICEF supported government have put in place a program that is the catch-up classes (CRAN) in the Anosy region.
This involves asking teens to go back to school, reassure their parents that their children will be able to follow the program through CRAN and hope for better results.
School leaders have an important role in this program. Their mission is to convince parents by going home. Teachers also have training to teach with the best strategies for accelerated courses.
