This was recorded October 27th, and was my first dabble back into ranked since whenever the last time I played was, like 10 days ago maybe? As I said in the intro and a bit at the end though, I play some quick match and group matches a decent amount, so it’s not like I’m completely fresh off the block here. This was my first Lars ranked session in like 3 weeks though, so that’s a pretty substantial amount of time to be gone, but clearly my time off to improve myself is working. I definitely feel like I played a lot better here than I have before.
Without getting into too much analysis of myself (cause I do it in the video), I try and use safer pokes a lot more, and I try and do more stance mixup than I usually do. I’ve also been trying to get better at MUs in general more, but my main thing was trying to work on throw breaks, and I think I’ve most definitely been improving on those again. Obviously not 100%, but a lot better for sure. Checking replays more often is also a really good habit to pick up, and I’ll definitely start checking them more often thanks to the update that lets you hop in right off a match. My next main Lars specific goal though is to try and start using fc 1+2 and db1 a lot more, since I noticed I was crutching db4 as a lot poke a lot again. db4 is obviously insane, but fc1+2 in regards to a poke is practically the same thing but safer. Obviously it’s less plus but it’s still really insane, tracks both ways too. Beating internal flowcharting and autopilot can be difficult sometimes, but trying to actively change it is not that hard I don’t think. I’ll try and do more prep work in that regard by next video. Something to note at least…
But yeah I don’t wanna yap too much again, I do a lot of yapping in the video when I record with commentary as is, you don’t need written yap too…
