These were recorded September 8th, which you can see if you watched the first 10 seconds of the video. Todays subtitle is brought to you by me playing against characters I suck against, and more importantly also have no idea what they’re even doing to begin with (Paul, Leo, Raven Jack, and also Hwoarang). Stances are scary, and unfortunately also have too much knowledge for one poor man to comprehend, especially for only having played Tekken for less than 2 months. Too much ducking involved and it’s scary because ducking can be very bad in the wrong scenarios, but I guess I’ll need to put on my big boy pants eventually and will need to learn when to do that. I know how to duck Steve though, sort of. Just need to transfer that to Hwoarang I guess.
What people need to understand is that knowledge is only half the battle, since MU experience is also a debatably better teacher in the long run since you can know what everything is and what it does, but knowing when the opponent will use it and how they tend to play is a whole other story. Meaning I’ll probably need another like 4 months at least to get used to what all these characters really are doing. That might even be generous since a lot of Tekken players have played for YEARS and still learn some things, so that’s a little annoying but it’s okay, everyday I learn something new (maybe), and maybe only 2000 more days to go before I can be good at Tekken. It does feel really bad to lose games with maybe 70% reason being I just don’t know what my opponent’s character does really, but like I also said in the outro, I can’t really fault the game for that, but it still is annoying in the heat of the moment. I also know I used the term “crashing out” a bunch in this video but really I was only mildly frustrated, I really wasn’t that mad during any of these games, except for some scarce moments like the ws1 incident (or the rage art at the end lol), which is good because yknow you can’t learn anything if you’re upset. You also can’t really learn anything if you’re falling asleep but that’s okay. It was 1:36 a.m. or whatever I said in the intro when I started editing this, and it’s 2:45 a.m. as I’m writing this description. It’s been a long day and what better way to ruin it than with Tekken 8 🙏
The last thing I wanna have a brief discussion about is yeah I auto pilot a lot of these games still, but I think I’ve gotten slightly better at controlling it. I’ve started using different moves, fc1+2 being a notable one, and I’ve also started trying to go for more whiff punishes with f1+2 and uf3, with varying degrees of success, but you know these are incredibly difficult skills to learn, and more importantly properly implement, not to mention stacking it on top of the aforementioned knowledge check stuff I’m still working on, so yea, it’s rough out here. My throw tech game has also been major slacking, so I’ll need to work on that a lot more too. That’s mostly why I lost so much, trying to juggle so many things in my mind at the same time, but meh, I don’t really mind. I expected to get demoted after I first hit tekken king because of prowess matchmaking, and if I stay in Bushin for a bit I totally get it, and I won’t even really be too mad about it. Obviously I don’t wanna demote, I’m just saying I get it if I do. It’s part of the learning experience.
Yeah I don’t really wanna write anymore. I always write these descriptions while waiting for the video to render anyways so I can schedule upload them and it’s just about done so yeah that means im also done YAPPING. Thanks for watching as always, and I hope you enjoy, there are some interesting moments in this one, so I hope you stick around to see them.
