Week 10: (Mar 5-Mar 11)
Notes: This project began as a simple player controller possession project. I quickly realized that UE 5.2 did not work the same as UE 4, and I had to do additional troubleshooting and research to get the player controller mapped correctly. Once that was working, I added the interactable HUD widget. The possession was functional, but it felt a little anti-climactic overall; so, I set out to learn how to make the vehicle sound like it was speeding up and slowing down. After that was working, I added car start and door lock sounds to make it truly feel that the plyer had gotten into the car and left the car. With more time, I might have swapped out the car for the buggy and added the character to the front seat using a socket.
Micro Passion Projects are intended to be short projects that can be completed in as little as 30 minutes or up to 4 hours. The goal is to try things, learn things, showcase things, have references to look at later, and have fun.
