Another classic documentary for geology students. Confronting the geological problem of how the earth replenishes the soil and sediments that is eroded away each year in the vast rivers of the world - exactly what James Hutton confronted when he worked out the principles of uniformitarianism during the 18th and the 19th centuries - this wonderful video shows that slowly rising mountains are forming all around the world in response to a restless earth. Hutton would have been proud to have seen this.
This documentary predates the general acceptance of Plate Tectonics by a few years which gives us the modern explanation of how mountains form. Still the information here is incredible and well worth watching.
