In this short video, Prof. Handke shows how words or short passages can be analyzed phonetically and phonemtically. Using two examples he discusses how consonants and vowels can be isolated and then matched with the sound system of a language (here: PDE) in order to answer the question: How many sound segments does a particular item contain?
