Climbing up Wales smallest mountain, The Garth, 1007 feet high

The Garth rises up above Gwaelod-y-Garth and Taff's Well village and was said to be in the inspiration for the film - The Englishman who Went up a Hill but Came down a Mountain - by Christopher Monger, a native of Taff's Well.

Most Geologists agree a mountain is anything over 1000f - the ancient burial grouns where the trig point for The Garth pushes this just above 1000ft.

A fun and easy hike with kids and located not far from the Welsh Capital of Cardiff and offers fantastic views right across Cardiff and South Wales valleys all the way to the Severn crossing.
