Darius Gaiden Silver Hawk Extra Version 2.7 Arcade 1997 (Official Hack) (All Zone Clear) Longplay
This is a longplay of an Official Hacked version that Taito did of Darius Gaiden Silver Hawk. It features swapped bosses and better rapid fire. It also has a trick that I used in this recording to play all zones in order including bonus ones with a whopping 28 stages (26 Normal 2 Bonus). Normally you just select a zone and go there after finish up one. In order to play all zones like I did you have to first insert a credit and push P2 start. Then if you want to just play as P1 you can then insert another credit and push P1 start. That's all there is to it! You can leave P2 alone if you want.
For those new to the Darius series it's a Shmup that has sea creatures featured as bosses. It has a fairly long history. It's also one of Taito's main series that they're known for.
It was the first time I played this version and I kinda like it better than the Original Darius Gaiden which is different. Extra Version feels more complete to me. The music was done by Zuntata which composed a lot of Taito tracks. It's a different soundtrack that's for sure, but a fair amount of their stuff sounds like this such as Psychic Force 2012.
There isn't a way to play this version outside of emulation, but the Original Darius Gaiden was ported to Saturn, Windows and PS1. It also shows up in Taito Memories Jōkan on PS2 though I could of sworn it was on Taito Legends 1 or 2 on PS2 in the America.
