Recorded during the Choreography sessions at Sound Of Music Studios, My Evil Twin wasn't included on that album because of one lyric that I was embarrassed about. So it's fitting that this song is about how much that critical voice in your head can hold you back.
We had no 'final mix' of My Evil Twin, and the hard-drives containing ALL of the Choreography sessions were destroyed in a fire in 2007 (for real, dude!). But after moving to Los Angeles recently, I found two different 'rough mixes' of the song on CDs. They were both cool in their own way, but I took them to Adam Lasus's Studio Red and we discovered that they were even better mixed together! Et voilà! The mix of those mixes is this digital single.
I made this video with images from the Megiddo and Choreography album photoshoots, as well as some live shots from my 2006 Paris show at La Maroquinerie. The pictures where my babyface is looking down at the mirror are from when I first moved to NYC at 18 to follow my rocknroll dreams. And FYI, my rocknroll dreams did not include making so much 'visual content'! But I've come to enjoy the rhythm of editing, and the opportunity to play with and figure out my style of visual expression.
