senthil Manickam and his family, have lost everything. The civil engineer said they received
the emergency alert at around 10.30pm asking them to evacuate.“I grabbed my kids — they’re three
and five and my wife — and we went to a friend’s home. “But at 2am, my landlord called me to
say the water was rising so I came back and the flat was completely submerged. I think I’ve lost almost everything — my work laptop, camera, fridge, my wife’s laptop. “I am new to this country and have only been here for eight months. This is the first time I have seen devastation of this magnitude,” senthil said.‘They’ve lost everything’
