Hello everyone, and welcome to the lab. Today's video is the result of a collaboration with Tormy Van Cool (@Not-Only-Reaper-Tutorials) and Marco Valleggi of @MVVblog.
Do you remember the ESR meter? Two versions were created: a first version entirely in PTH ( • 0747: ✈@MVVblog ESR Meter in KIT di montaggio ) and a second miniaturized version in SMD, the MicroESR ( • 0805: Micro ESR, il misuratore di ESR più ... ).
We've finally reached the state of the art: the EVO version! We've created three mechanically compatible printed circuit boards for the YX360 Multitester to provide features missing from previous versions, such as:
Slide-type power button
Display backlighting with TAMARRI LEDs and slide-type power buttons
Capacitor measurement with contact on the strip lines without test leads
Auto power-off function
Assembly entirely in SMD for all components that do not require special requirements (such as protection diodes and calibration resistors)
I consider this tool extremely useful for anyone who performs tests on electronic devices, because, as we know, capacitors are among the first suspects when anomalies occur. The schematic was created in true Nuova Elettronica style, and a dedicated article explaining the tool and its construction has also been prepared. This video covers debugging the first prototype, which is always a very stimulating activity and useful for anyone creating electronic projects, and our intention is to make the object available in a kit form.
