Schloss Limberg / Limberg Castle 4K
Schloss Limberg ist ein Schloss im Ort Limberg bei Wies in der Marktgemeinde Wies im steirischen Bezirk Deutschlandsberg. Erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde Schloss Limberg 1244 als eine Burg mit dem Namen „Lindenperch“, auch eine Besiedelung des Areals im ersten Jahrtausend ist wahrscheinlich. Vermutlich war ein Festes Haus, errichtet von Salzburger Ministerialen, Vorgänger des heutigen Schlosses, das aus dem 16. Jahrhundert stammt. Eine wesentliche Aufgabe der Anlage am Fuße der Koralpe war die Sicherung des Übergangs nach Kärnten. Heute nutzen es der Verein der Steirischen Jugendhilfe und die Pfadfinder als Erholungsheim.

Limberg Castle is a castle in the town of Limberg near Wies in the market town of Wies in the Deutschlandsberg district of Styria. Limberg Castle was first mentioned in a document in 1244 as a castle with the name “Lindenperch”, and it is also likely that the area was settled in the first millennium. A permanent house, built by Salzburg ministerials, was probably the predecessor of today's castle, which dates back to the 16th century. A key task of the facility at the foot of the Koralpe was to secure the transition to Carinthia. Today the Styrian Youth Welfare Association and the Boy Scouts use it as a rest home.
