Lichen planus, that affects areas of skin where there is hair.
Skin disease that destroys the hair follicle and then replaces it with scarring, resulting in permanent hair loss. Other symptoms include itchy scalp, pain, burning and scalp tenderness.
The crown and vertex (top of the scalp) are most commonly affected.
It is more common in women, the age in the mid-40s.
