On 5th September, I had the opportunity to watch Marvel Studios' latest blockbuster, Shang-Chi: And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. I was impressed a lot by the quality of the writing, visual effects, production design and music. But one thing which truly amazed me was the Main On End Title Sequence. The water simulations which gradually formed into Shang-Chi and Wenwu holding the glowing Rings, accompanied by Anderson .Paak's Fire in the Sky looked so good on the big screen. I was obsessed with the whole credit sequence (I am obsessed with almost all of Marvel's credits sequences; Black Panther, WandaVision, Avengers: Endgame). I came back home and immediately started scouring through tutorials, forums and documentations regarding water simulations in Blender. I started some simulation test renders, and before I knew it, I was making shots from the actual sequence(at least I was trying to).
The original title sequence was made by New York based Perception Studios and like always, their creativity and uniqueness in making these title sequences is beyond my comprehension (I sent them a couple of emails regarding internships but I guess they got lost in their Spam Folder🙄🤫).
In the end, I was really happy with the result and I hope you enjoy it too.
