After creating our water ripples and water opacity, now we're ready to add reflection and refraction to our water. This Unreal Engine 4 Material Editor Tutorial explains the basics of reflection in Unreal Engine. We talk about skybox reflection, reflection probes (cube maps), and screen space reflection (SSR) - and how all three of these work together to create the final reflection effect we're looking for on the water.
We also discuss what refraction is and the settings that are required to make refraction work correctly on our water shader.
Finally, we put all of the effects together - ripples, depth opacity, depth color, reflection, and refraction - to create our final water shader
