This tutorial is for part or assembly models and their decals, and setting you up for success so that the decals travel with the model instead of disappearing due to broken references.
Users often receive or open models with missing decals. Typically, this happens because by default decals are not embedded in models. They are linked so if the original decal image file is moved or deleted, the decal will not display in model. In the video Alejandro shows how you can change this under Document Properties so that every time a decal is applied to a model it is embedded which eliminates missing decal issues.

When you add decals to your models in #SOLIDWORKS, you might normally create a reference. However, if that decal file location changes or is deleted, when you open up the model again, you wouldn't have the decal placed anymore.
This can happen if an image gets deleted in a folder file and thus could create a broken reference. However, you you can add a decal to a model by embedding it. We run through an example using a grill assembly.
Go to your Display Manager, and drop it on the face of your model.
Go to Document Properties, and under Model Display, select the option "Store appearance, decal, and scene data" and this will embed the decal into your model so that it travels with it and stays with it.
