Because of severe weather conditions in #Ukraine, winter is a less active season for humanitarian demining activities, however there is no time to rest.
For the last week, participants have been expanding their knowledge and skills at our Non-Technical Survey (NTS) Training — which involves identifying the nature and location of explosive ordnance contamination. It is a critical step in the land release process requiring effective planning and prioritisation.
The training was carried out using the Training Management Package developed with the participation of Ukrainian Mine Action practitioners to ensure it reflects the needs of NTS Teams in Ukraine. It was presented to the mine action community in Kyiv last February. A special thank you to The HALO Trust and Norwegian People´s Aid, and the U.S. Department of State PM/WRA for supporting this activity.
