Here is a little bit of background on the song. Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star is a lullaby written by Jane Taylor which is based on her 19th century poem, called "The Star". This was originally published as a couplet in 1806 in a poetry book called Rhymes for the Nursery, which featured poetry by Jane Taylor and her sister Ann. The tune itself is based on a song called Ah! Vous Dirai-Je, Maman, which is originally from France and was written in 1761. This tune was later adapted by Mozart, who came up with Twelve Variations on the hummable little tune. There are actually 5 stanzas to the song, but most people only know the famous first stanza.
