Hello, in this video, I bring you with me on my journey to add a simulated cloak and a UI to my game. Cloth simulation is built-in to Unreal Engine so it is not hard to make it. However, I had issues because of my import units and because I wanted to have the cloak be a seperate object from the character mesh.
Usually, when people do this, they import the character with the cloak as 1 mesh, meaning they automatically have the same skeleton and physics asset. However, I wanted them to be seperate so I could detach the cloak or change it for an other model such as a smaller or damaged cloak.
Then, I added a UI to my game with a player portrait showing the health and energy of the player and an action bar letting the player use spells and see their cooldown.
