"Cathedral" - by Eddie Van Halen - (keytar solo)
Here's a little laid back Eddie Van Halen guitar solo called "Cathedral," played on a keytar. On a real guitar, Eddie achieved this ethereal soundscape by hammering the notes on the fretboard with his left hand while rapidly rolling the volume knob off and on with his right hand to fade in every note. When he recorded it for the "Diver Down" album, he only managed to record two takes before his guitar's volume knob overheated and seized from the rapid turning.
