I've always been fascinated by the magic of vinyl records. For me, there's nothing more amazing than dropping the needle on The Carpenter's eponymous third album, the so called "tan album," and hearing Karen Carpenter's exquisite voice peal into my living room as clear as a bell; effortlessly warm and comforting, like a blanket and coffee on a rainy day.
This is the style of music that I love to play on the piano the most, where the beauty lies somewhere between the melody and the bass line, within jazzy sounding chords that hearken to a Golden Age of music.
