Frankenstein Driveline | Combining Two Shafts into One
The front driveline in my 91 had a bad slip yoke and was too short. It just so happens i had a driveline out of a 1976 3/4 ton chevy and the u joints are the same as the xj. And the slip yoke overall length was longer than the on in the jeep. So i cut the two apart and made one good one out of the two. But it probably wont be very balanced. i did not tack it enough and after having it dialed to 0. After welding it it moved to 15 degrees or so. So i may have to do it over. Or just remove it when on the road. Should be good for off-roading.
