Winch Full of Rust! Here's What I Found
I have not tried to use this winch since i bought the jeep. So i pulled it off and the first thing i found was the ground wire was all rusted and corroded up. I think that was the problem but decided to pull it all apart anyway. I did find some other rusted connections as well as some rust in the motor housing. I cleaned it all up and covered all the connections with dielectric grease. It was really easy to pull apart and back together. The hardest part was the wire boots.
