Superman IV: The Quest For Peace: Redux
A hefty proportion of Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, starring Christopher Reeve and Gene Hackman, was filmed in Milton Keynes (which doubles as Metropolis) in 1986. Artist Richard DeDomenici has pioneered a series of creative and witty recreations of sections of popular films around the world for his Redux Project, and now takes on Superman IV for IF: Milton Keynes International Festival 2016.
With the help of the good citizens of Milton Keynes, Richard reshot and edited key scenes from the original film on the 30th anniversary of the film being made.
Filmed on 16 and 17 July, and premiered on 23 July 2016.

Richard DeDomenici makes work that’s social, joyful, topical and political - although rarely simultaneously. Last year DeDomenici adapted his inexplicably popular Redux Project for television as part of the BBC4 event Live From Television Centre.
